Apple Reportedly To Use Steve Jobs Theater To Announce New iPhones And Watches At September 12 Event

According to Dow Jones sources cited by The Wall Street Journal, Apple has indeed scheduled an event on September 12. Although we are still waiting for Apple to send out invites to press to make the event official, but now it seems all but confirmed at this point.

The publication says Apple is aiming to use Steve Jobs Theater for the event, but Apple Park location is not set in stone, and depends on construction timelines. Recent drone footages of the theater show that the surrounding areas is still pretty barren in terms of tress and fauna.

In the past two years it has used San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, but people close to the company say it is aiming to use the 1,000-seat Steve Jobs Theater on its new headquarters campus. That headquarters, however, isn’t yet finished, and its construction timetable could affect the timing or location of the event, those people said.

At this press event, Apple is widely expected to unveil the so-called iPhone 8 with an OLED display, representing the first major design overhaul to the phone in three years. The OLED iPhone will feature wireless charging and a 3D front-facing sensor for facial recognition which we called as Face ID, the Face ID will even working in dark condition.

In addition to the new iPhone, the company will announce new Apple Watch models including LTE cellular models. There should also be an update to the Apple TV, adding 4K and HDR capabilities. A September 12th event should mean availability of new iPhones as soon as September 22nd, if Apple sticks to usual product rollout patterns.
