Survey Result Shows Apple Music Is The Least Popular Streaming Music Service In US, But It’s #1 For Paid Users

According to a survey result recently released by Fluent, a market research firm, while 1,900 american adults has participate in this survey. The result shows Apple Music is the nation's "most unpopular" streaming music service, it came in after YouTube, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Google Play Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music.

However, to see such a situation is not surprising, there are two reasons. First of all, also the most important point, in the seven streaming music services, there are five provides free music service. Obviously, most users will choose to use free services, rather than the need to pay subscription services, only one-third of the participants are using paid services.

Second, although Apple launched the Android version of Apple Music in 2015, but this service is still mainly for Apple device users, compared to other competitors, Apple Music market seems pretty smaller.

For the paid music subscription services survey, Apple's performance is better. The survey results shows that Apple Music's popularity for above 35 user about the same as Spotify, and is the most popular among the Millennials (25-34) users as well as Gen Z (18-24) users, accounting for 14% and 19% respectively. The result is not surprising. In the United States, one-third of adults have an iPhone, the proportion of Gen Z users rose to 52%.

When asking why choice to paid streaming music service, there are four very important points, first is to listen music offline, followed by free ads, the third is tailored music recommendations, and family sharing feature came in fourth place.
