Samsung's Galaxy S9 Beats iPhone X In Both The Camera And Display Quality, But Falls Behind In Benchmarking

Despite Consumer Reports has recently claimed iPhone X has the best smartphones camera in all of 10 phones they tested, however, DxO has published their new rankings, which said Samsung's new Galaxy S9 Plus have the best smartphone camera it has ever tested.

According to DxO, as they said that Galaxy S9 Plus camera lacks any "obvious weaknesses" and "performs very well across all photo and video test categories." Additionally, the site also found the Galaxy S9 Plu produces "excellent results" under the bright light and sunny conditions, with vivid colors, good exposures, and a very wide dynamic range. It also has impressive results when comes dimmer conditions.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is a smartphone without any real weaknesses in the camera department. In both still and video modes, it performs well across the board, delivering consistently good photo and video image quality in all light and shooting situations, thus earning itself our highest DxOMark Mobile score to date. Add one of the best smartphone zooms and a capable bokeh simulation mode to the mix, and the Galaxy S9 Plus is difficult to ignore for any photo-minded smartphone user. With the Galaxy S9 Plus, Samsung is setting the pace for 2018. We'll see if the competition can follow suit.

Moreover, the rear camera on the Galaxy S9 Plus earned top marks in several other areas, including autofocus, zoom, flash, and bokeh, exposure, contrast, color accuracy, accurate white balance, low noise, and good texture in low-light conditions.

Samsung also did a nice job on the OLED for Galaxy S9 models, as reports by DisplayMate, the new flagship has showed consistent Top Tier display performance and became the first display to receive All Green ratings in all of DisplayMate's lab test as well as measurement categories.

DisplayMate praised that Galaxy S9 had matching and setting records in several categories including highest absolute color accuracy, highest peak display brightness, largest native color gamut, highest contrast ratio, and lowest screen reflectance. Surprisingly, the 3K 2960x1440 panel in the S9 is said to have the same power efficiency as the one found on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8.

Sadly, the Samsung's latest handset has beaten by both the iPhone 8 and iPhone X in every benchmark test in which they were compared, but in three of the tests it was also bested by the iPhone 7, launched back in 2016. according to AnandTech who described the results as ‘awkward.
