AD Case, A Case That's Designed To Protect Your iPhones From Falls With Eight Spring Legs

Pretty sure no one wants their iPhone to have a cracked screen that when it falls to the ground, despite it equipped with a case. However, an intelligent German student came up with a way to protect your smartphone most effectively, and it's sort of like an airbag case.

Philip Frenzel from the University of Aalen in Germany developed a new smartphone protection solutions named Active Dampening (AD) system, a case that has eight spring legs, so once its built-in sensors detect when the phone begins to fall, it will deploy eight spring legs to protect the phone.

This invention won Frenzel the German Society for Mechanical and Electronic Awards. Although it's a prototype, according to Frenzel's website, he's planning to launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter soon. Frenzel says they have developed AD cases for iPhones that range from iPhone 6 to iPhone X.

The case also includes an extra battery that can charge the iPhone via wireless or USB cable. It's worth to note because the cover is 4.9mm (0.19in) thick, which means it would make an iPhone X 12.6mm (0.5in) thick. So what's your thought about the case?
