Apple Watch Series 4's Screen To Have Higher Resolution Of 384 x 480

Ever since Apple Watch Series 4's marketing image was leaked, the new watchface has been appealing to many users, it included as many as nine complications. At the time, it makes us wonder that Apple would increase it the screen resolution to the next level.

Believe or not, the speculation seems to be the case. According to 9to5Mac's Guilherme Rambo, who found out that the screen resolution of the new 42mm Apple Watch will be 384 x 480 via watchOS 5 Beta. In contrast, the screen resolution of the 42mm Apple Watch Series 3 is 312 x 390.

In order to achieve higher resolution, Apple makes the bezel thinner of the watch and made the screen bigger. In addition, the PPI value of the new watch screen will also gain, that will eventually increase the resolution to 384 x 480.

Rambo tested it with the improved Apple Watch emulator in the latest version of Xcode beta and found that the new resolution gives users a varied experience, and obviously the text will be sharper. Of course, since the screen is larger and sharper, 3rd party developers may be required to do some work.
