LG & Vizio Announces Their AirPlay 2 And HomeKit Support On Smart TVs

While Samsung has announced that their TV products will support Apple AirPlay 2. At today's CES 2019, LG and Vizio also announced that its 2019 Smart TVs will come with AirPlay 2 and HomeKit features, and you can enable all these via future software updates later this year.

Once it is activated, iOS users can stream their content to their Smart TV without the Apple TV. You can now easily play, pause, fast-forward, rewind, and adjust the volume on your TV as well, and even ask Siri to send a video to your devices. HomeKit support means that users can control the TV using the Home app on the iPhone.

Apple yesterday updated its website to reflect the change that AirPlay 2, iTunes, and HomeKit will be implemented on smart TVs from leading TV manufacturers, "so now you can effortlessly share or mirror almost anything from your iOS device or Mac directly to your AirPlay 2–enabled smart TV. You can even play music on the TV and sync it with other AirPlay 2–compatible speakers anywhere in your home."
