Trendforce: 16-Inch MacBook Pro Expect To Hit Store Shelves This Fall

As per Taiwan market research firm TrendForce, the 16-inch MacBook Pro, together with Dell's new notebook with a 16:10 aspect ratio, and Ausu's dual-screen laptop will hit store shelves in this fall.

According to the 3Q outlook for notebook shipments, demand for Chromebooks remains strong thanks to the back-to-school period; at the same time, we see new products hitting shelves, such as Apple's 16-inch MacBook, Dell's products with 16:10 aspect ratio, Asus's dual-screen laptop, as well as various gaming laptops in increasingly hot demand.
The 16-inch MacBook in the report refers to the forthcoming 16-inch MacBook Pro. In addition to TrendForce, Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, IHS Markit analyst Jeff Lin, DigiTimes, and UDN all predicted that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will be launched this fall, but failed to come to an agreement whether the release time is September or October, although Apple typically hosts a Mac-focused event in October.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro will be redesigned to include the much-welcomed scissor keyboard, a bezel-less screen, to be powered by Intel's 9th-generation Coffee Lake Refresh processors and up to an 8-core Core i9 processor configuration.
