Apple Confirms The New Mac Pro Will Be Made In Austin, Texas

As part of its commitment to US economic growth, Apple confirmed today through a Newroom press that its newly designed Mac Pro will be produced in Austin, Texas. The new Mac Pro was announced at the WWDC in June this year and will soon be in mass production stage.

This plant, based in Austin, has been the manufacturer of Mac Pro since 2013. The new pro machine will include components designed, developed and manufactured by more than a dozen US companies. The manufacturers and suppliers in Arizona, Maine, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Vermont, including Intersil and ON Semiconductor, are providing advanced technology to build the Mac Pro. The cost of parts in the new Mac Pro is 2.5 times that of Apple's previous Mac Pro.

Meanwhile, Apple claims that it is on track to meet its pledge to invest $350 billion in the US economy by 2023. Last year alone, the company invested more than $60 billion with more than 9,000 domestic suppliers across the country, including at manufacturing facilities in 36 states. Apple's investment in technology promotes 2.4 million employment in all 50 states, including 90,000 direct employees.
