Apple's iPad Is Still Most Popular Tablet Devices Around The World, While Samsung Dropping Its Market Share

According to the new data shared by research firm IDC today, Apple's tablet devices - iPad remains the world's most popular tablet by a significant margin, helped by the lower-price iPad which continued to drive a strong consumer upgrade cycle.

Confirmed by its Q1 18 (Q4 17) earnings results, Apple has sold a total of 43.8 million iPad units last year, compared to Samsung's 24.9 million and Amazon's 16.7 million, which were estimated by IDC. Interestingly, the combined Samsung-Amazon total of 41.6 million tablet sales is still lower than iPad shipments.
