Apple: There Are Over 400 Vehicle Models That Supports CarPlay For Now

Apple confirmed today that there are already more than 400 vehicle models supporting CarPlay, a feature that It allows you to use your iPhone intelligently and safely in your car. It mirrors several iPhone functions onto a vehicle's dashboard display, enables you to navigation more easier, makes phone calls, send and receive messages, and listen to music.


Most auto manufacturers currently only support the wired CarPlay, which means that the iPhone must be connected to the car system via the Lightning cable to work. At present, wireless CarPlay is only available on certain BMW models and Alpine, Pioneer's vehicle models.

Available on select cars, CarPlay is a smarter, safer way to use your iPhone in the car. CarPlay takes the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and puts them right on your car’s built-in display. You can get directions, make calls, send and receive messages, and listen to music, all in a way that allows you to stay focused on the road. Just connect your iPhone and go.

The latest model that supports CarPlay is the Subaru 2019 WRX. In previous years, Subaru WRX did not come with CarPlay. In addition to CarPlay, the 2019 WRX also supports Android Auto. Starlink also offers Aha Broadcast, Pandora, AM/FM, Bluetooth Audio, CD Player, and entertainment systems.
