iPhone X Titled As Best-Selling Smartphone In Europe During Last Quarter, Reports Canalys

Although analysts were not optimistic in terms of iPhone X sales prior to Apple's Q2 2018 earnings report, in Europe, however, the flagship device the best-selling smartphone in Q1 2018, as reported by Canalys.

Canalys says that when the smartphone market entering a era of cyclical, the flagship phone has been unable to wake up consumers' interests, consumers are often willing to spend less money to buy petty decent mid-range models, so iPhone X's sales numbers largely impressed the firm. 


Data shows that European smartphone shipments fell by 6.3% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2018, making the largest decline in history. The 6.3% drop was one of the most significant declines in the world. Not to mention the decline in Western Europe. it dropped as high as 13.9%, and shipments were only locked at 30.1 million units.

In this case, Apple's shipments exceeded 10.2 million units, it was only fell by 5.4%. The iPhone X shipments, slightly declines compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, still, it accounted for 25% of all iPhone sales, making it the best-selling smartphone model in Europe.


Apple's one biggest rival - Samsung's is in hot water, even though it still tops European shipments in the last quarter, reaching 15 million units, but it's down by 15% year-on-year. Chinese smartphone vendor like Huawei and Xiaomi all successfully gained gigantic growth, especially Xiaomi, last quarter along it surged more than 999%!
