On Tuesday, gaming hardware manufacturer Razer officially released a new eGPU external graphics Enclosure product, the Razer Core X (Warcore X). It provides support to all Macs running on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 or later and with Thunderbolt 3.


As the product in the Razer eGPU family that support Macs, Core X is priced at $299. The significance of the external GPU enclosure is that it allows Macs to have the same performance of a game console, or more precisely, the MacBook graphics performance can even reach the desktop-class level.

Give your thin and light laptop the power of a full gaming rig. Whether you’re hunting down enemies in an apocalypse or designing your own 3D world, the Razer Core X delivers desktop-class graphics to your laptop instantly. Compatible with Thunderbolt 3 Windows 10 or Mac laptops.

The biggest highlight of the Razer Core X supports "plug-and-play", which means you don't need to restart the laptop to connect devices. At the same time, thanks to the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port, the Razer Core X can deliver up to 40 Gbps of speed.

It housing additional heat sink and vents, and does not require tools for mounting the graphics card. Built-in ATX 650 Watt power supply, the maximum graphics card power supply support up to 500 watts, while the power supply goes through the USB-C into the laptop is limited to 100 watts.


Honestly, the Razer Core X is one of the best choices when it comes to selecting Mac's external GPU enclosures. It does cost a lot less than the Razer Core V2. However, You will need to purchase a GPU alongside the Razer Core accessories. Here are Mac-compatible GPU cards:

At present, The Razer Core X has now officially available for order directly from the Razer Store starting today in Canada, China, France, Germany and the United Kingdom for $299.
