Apple has extended its new "Data & Privacy Potal today, allowing users in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand download all data associated with Apple ID. These data including purchase history, app usage history, calendars, reminders, photos, documents stored in iCloud, Apple Music and Game Center data, and AppleCare support history.
According to Apple, the new portal is designed to response to the new GDPR regulation that goes into effect at the end of the month. Because of Apple’s strong stance on privacy, the data stored in Apple servers shouldn't take plenty of time to download. Yet. Apple says it will roll out the service worldwide in the coming months, starting today.
You can request data corrections, deactivate or delete your own account as well. And for those users who who live in a country or region that's not listed above can contact Apple for a copy of their data. Because it's still rolling out to customers, it might take sometime to show up on your Data and Privacy page.
In addition to the new web portal, the company also updated its privacy website that explains how iOS 12 and macOS Mojave handle the privacy measures. Apple admits that they will minimize its collection of personal data, and users aren’t treated as products, but rather believes Privacy is the "fundamental human right."
