Apple will hold a media event on October 30 to launch a new generation of iPad Pro, the new MacBook, and other products. Now, according to an Indian carrier that iOS 12.1 will also be released on the 30th, this upcoming Tuesday, most likely after the event. The update will introduce support for eSIM, Group FaceTime, and 70+ new emoji characters.

iOS 12.1 will bring eSIM support for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, enable Dual-SIM dual standby via eSIM (except for the Chinese iPhones). With this feature on, you can have two phone number at the same time; able to add another line to their existing iPhone, giving the device two phone numbers for phone calls and texting.

It includes as many as 70+ Unicode 11 emojis including red hair, gray hair, curly hair, and no hair, as well as cold face, party face, pleading face, face with hearts, Nazar amulet, an infinity symbol, along with new animals such as kangaroo, peacock, parrot, lobster, and food items include mango, lettuce, cupcake, and mooncake.

The update also re-added Group FaceTime since it removed it previously in iOS 12.0, the feature will allow to Facetime Video call up to 32 people at once, but some older devices such as iPhone 5S, 6, 6 Plus, iPad mini 2 and 3 will not be supported.
