PSA: No ECG Feature On Your Apple Watch Series 4? Change Your Region To The US To Get It Sooner

Apple Watch Series 4, the newest one to join Apple's wearable device lineups, packed with andvanced hardwares such as larger display, new Digital Crown, powerful S4 processors, and an ECG sensor that allows you to take Electrocardiogram on your wrist, now the problem, in many countries, you won't be able to use the feature, as it requires regulatory approvals, which will take some time, so is there's a way to use it beforehand?


However, we do know that the ECG received FDA clearance, meaning the feature will first come out in the United States, other than the US, it could take months even years that authorities approval it. A report by 9to5Mac says that the limitation just on the software part rather than hardware-the feature can be activated once region changes.

If you set the region to the US on your Apple Watch Series 4, you will be able to get access to the feature, similar to how other features such as Apple News can be enabled on countries that still hasn't roll out, or like the way you change the region of Apple IDs that allows you to download apps a certain country doesn't have.

In case you are wondering how to change the region: Settings - General - Language & Region - Region then choose “United States”. The only drawback is that you may changing the date and time format and other units back the country you are in. Enjoy it!
