Apple analyst Ming-Chi is out with the latest research report on AirPods, which has given hope to users who awaits the second-generation AirPods wireless headphone. Kuo says that AirPods is the fastest growing Apple products, and expects the growth in shipments in 2018 and 2019 will be about 80% and 90%, respectively, while the annual shipments are expected to reach 100 million units by 2021.

The analyst estimated that shipments will grow strongly in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, from 26 to 28 million, 50 to 55 million, 70 to 80 million and 1 million to 110 million. respectively. All in all, AirPods is arguably the most popular accessory in Apple's history and the product that has the strongest growth momentum in Apple products thanks to the large iPhone user base.

"More than 1 billion iPhone users worldwide offer a huge potential growth opportunity for AirPods. We believe that even older iPhone users are more likely to purchase AirPods than to upgrade to the new iPhone. At least 5% of iPhone users currently owns AirPods, so AirPods still has plenty of room to grow," says Ming-Chi Kuo, the often reliable Apple analyst.
