To honor its legendary co-founder and former CEO, Apple's new headquarter - Apple Park's theater is named after Steve Jobs, and the 1,000-seat auditorium entrance is a 20-foot, 165-foot glass cylinder that supports a metal-carbon fiber roof. The Steve Jobs Theatre is located on one of the highest points in Apple Park, overlooking the landscaping and main spaceship building.
The Apple Park replaces 5 million square feet of asphalt and concrete with grassland and more than 9,000 local drought-resistant trees and is powered by 100% renewable energy. With 17 megawatts of rooftop solar energy, the $5 billion campus runs one of the world's largest on-site solar installations. It is also one of the largest naturally ventilated buildings in the world and is expected to require no heating or air conditioning for nine months of the year.

Now, the Steve Jobs Theatre earned the Structural Art Engineering Award from the Institute of Structural Engineers. According to the Institute, the award is "for projects in which what could otherwise have been an adequate and worthy solution has been transformed by the vision and skill of the structural engineer into something exceptional." Judges said that like the way they make the wires and pipes invisible, given them an impression of there is only the glass between the floor and ceiling.
The first media event at the Steve Jobs Theatre was in September 2017, when Apple unveiled products such as iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, Apple Watch Series 3 and Apple TV 4K. This year's September event was also held here, where we welcomed new products such as iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and Apple Watch Series 4.
