User Reports Poor FaceTime Camera Quality On 2018 MacBook Air

The 2018 MacBook Air comes with a 720p FaceTime HD camera, but some users say they found the camera's image quality to be much worse than expected. Some contacted Apple, but end up with no result. One user replied that the image of the newly purchased MacBook Air camera was too blurry, as the photos taken with this MacBook were worse than those of the iPhone 7's.

Another user explained that the problem was apparently caused by the sensor itself or by software, not a one-time problem because the first time he used the new MacBook Air's FaceTime camera as that he confirmed that the lens was clean, the blurred area of the image is uniform, and the light didn't play any big factor.

Note that the previous generation MacBook Air also equipped with a 720p FaceTime HD camera, and some users compared the new MacBook Air camera with the old models, despite that they are all 720p FaceTime HD cameras, but the imaging quality of the new model is even worse.

From the user's feedback, the 2018 MacBook Air camera seems to be a step backward compared to the previous generation MacBook Air. Apple has not yet commented on the topic.
