Apple's Health Records Coming To U.S. Veterans Very Soon

Apple announced in a press release today that its Health Record features on the iPhone will soon be available to US veterans, allowing them to safely view their aggregated health records directly in the Health app on the iPhone, this is the fruit of a partnership between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Apple.


Apple CEO Time Cook said in a statement that it is an honor to be able to contribute to the American hero's medical care "We have great admiration for veterans, and we're proud to bring a solution like Health Records on iPhone to the veteran community. It's truly an honor to contribute to the improved healthcare of America's heroes", says the CEO.

The Health Records feature is intended to let you view medical records from multiple participating hospitals and clinics directly in the Health app on the iPhone, including allergies, illnesses, immunizations, laboratory results, medications, procedures, and vital signs, and with others, where than 100 institutions in the United States currently support Apple's Health Records.

The Health Records will be VA's first shared record sharing platform, VA is the largest medical system in the United States, serving more than 9 million veterans in 1,243 facilities. However, the platform's Health Records data is encrypted and protected with the user’s iPhone passcode, Touch ID or Face ID.
