Apple Rumors To Launch Updated 4-7-Inch iPhone 8 Model Next Year For $650

Apple will launch an updated version of 4.7-inch iPhone 8 next year, according to Taiwanese publication Economic Daily News. In terms of design, the new 4.7-inch iPhone will be identical to the iPhone 8, but with a new A13 processor, 128 GB of storage and a 12MP rear camera for about $650.

Apple discontinued the iPhone SE last year. Although third-party sellers still put it on sale from time to time, there are still a small number of consumers eager for a smaller iPhone. Analysts said that because the iPhone uses the 2017 design, for suppliers who already have rich production experience, but also are familiar with the process of making such device, thus helping to increase the gross profit margin.

According to reports, this 4.7-inch updated version of the iPhone 8 is positioned in the mid-end market and is expected to produce 20 million units, and to be produced by Pegatron. With this revised iPhone 8 unit, Apple is hoping to gain its market share in the mid-tier smartphone segment, where the company had been ignored and lost its market share out to rivals like Oppo and Vivo.

Nevertheless, the industry suspects that if Apple rated the newly-launched iPhone 8 as a mid-end smartphone, it may drag down the sales of high-end and low-end models. Fans will also have doubts about the value of the brand, and whether the market will accept new devices or not still remains unknown.
