Apple Pay's global expansion continues today, with the mobile payment service now being launched in Hungary and Luxembourg. At the same time, National Australia Bank (NAB), one of the four largest banks in Australia, who is also the 17th largest bank in the world, has announced the support for Apple Pay, allowing NAB customers to bundle their Visa cards with Apple Pay services.
As for banks that supports Apple Pay in Hungary and Luxembourg: BGL BNP Paribas is currently the sole bank supporting such system in Luxembourg, and OTP Bank in Hungary. In Luxembourg, people can use Apple's digital wallet in places like Starbucks, Adidas, Rossmann, LiDL, COS. Meanwhile, in Hungary, Burger King, Quick, Total, orange, and Computer Home are currently supporting Apple Pay.
On the other side, in Australia, only one of the top four banks, Westpac, holdout the support for Apple Pay. Anyway, National Australia Bank announced the news on Twitter, however, the bank has not yet appeared on Apple Pay's official list of supported banks.
Altogether, the service is already available in more than 40 nations since its introduction in 2014. Apple Pay is designed to be used as a contactless payment solution, you can use it in retail stores, inside some apps and websites with a compatible iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac.
