Apple's New Mac Pro Will Now Be Assembled In China Instead Of US

Earlier this month, Apple released the new Mac Pro with a new modular design and massive performance. Now, the company has previously made Mac Pro in the US, but not this time, as per The Wall Street Journal, the new 2019 Mac Pro will be manufactured in China, and Quanta Computer is responsible for it, as the plant also makes MacBook models. Apple expects that by moving the production to China, it will cost less to make one than in the US.

The 2013 “Trash Can” Mac Pro has experienced many issues due to its production in the US. At the time, it was reported that production was delayed due to a screw issue. In the end, the 2013 Mac Pro was considered a failed product, both in sales and in production. However, an Apple spokesperson said that the Mac Pro is still designed and engineered in the United States and includes some U.S.-made components.

Apple is manufacturing its new Mac Pro computer in China, according to people familiar with its plans. [...] The tech giant has tapped contractor Quanta Computer Inc. to manufacture the $6,000 desktop computer and is ramping up production at a factory near Shanghai, the people said.

The all-new modular Mac Pro sports the high-end configurations that are staggering to just glance at. For example, the basic configuration version of the Mac Pro comes with an 8-core Xeon processor, 32GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD. The maxed out version is featured with a 28-core Xeon processor, 1.5TB of memory, 4TB SSD and two AMD Radeon Vega II graphics cards and an Apple Afterburner accelerator card. Of crouse, it comes at a huge cost, with the price starting at $5,999.
