Apple Partners With Young Londoners Fund To Offer Made In LDN Programs

Apple is offering free Today at Apple sessions for kids who are in danger of getting caught up in gangs, at London Apple Stores starting 31 July. These sessions are in part of the “Made in LDN” program, designed for young Londoners to learn coding, producing, photography, health, fitness and filmmaking. Many organisations including the London Mayor’s Young Londoners Fund are working to provide these Today at Apple sessions in these Apple Stores.

These biweekly sessions will be taught by Apple’s Creative Pros at all London Apple Store locations. There will also be Instagram influencers and industry experts to provide speeches to these children in risk. The organisations contributing to this program consist of northern London-based Art Against Knives, which runs art projects for teens and young adults from 10-25 years of age and Croydon’s City Listeners, a counselling program for children in danger of gang related activity.

London mayor Sadiq Khan says that:
I am determined to do everything I can to provide positive opportunities for young people this summer and that’s why I am pleased to be working with Apple on a series of programmes to help young people develop the skills they need to get the jobs of tomorrow, while also ensuring they have something constructive and safe to do during the summer holidays.
He is aware that all of these children, whom are in danger of being involved in gangs, find something to do that is in a safe and fun way. In addition, these programs will get them to be introduced to Apple’s products, apps and creativity.

Finally, Apple’s head of retail in Europe, Wendy Beckman says:
We are inspired everyday by the power of creativity in our communities. Our ambition for the Today at Apple programme in partnership with the London Mayor’s Office - ‘Made in LDN,’ is to help provide the tools to unlock new skills and create a platform to amplify London’s creative voice.
These free Today at Apple sessions will be available to sign up starting the 31st of July, at the link Apple.co/MadeinLDN.
