Apple has unveiled a new MacBook Air models today, introduces True Tone to its Retina display for a more natural viewing experience. While they have also refreshed the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro with the latest Intel 8th-generation quad-core processors, delivers two times faster performance. The updated MacBook models are part of Apple’s back-to-school promotion, specifically for college students.
The MacBook Air, on the other hand, comes in a light and thin design in three different finishes, it also received a speed bump thanks to the 8th-generation dual-core processor, and like the Pro model, it featured with wide stereo sound and all-day battery life. True Tone for Retina display is geared to automatically adjusts the color temperature of the display so you can enjoy a more comfortable viewing experience.
The two updated MacBook models will be able to running macOS Catalina, the latest operating system designed for Mac, this fall. Pricing for the MacBook Air starts at $1,099 for average consumer, $999 for college students; whereas the MacBook Pro to be sold for $1,299, and $1,999 for college students.
“College students love the Mac — it’s the notebook they rely on from the dorm room to the classroom, and the No. 1 choice among higher education students,” said Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac Product Marketing. “With a lower $999 student price for MacBook Air and the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro with faster performance, Touch Bar and Touch ID at $1,199 for students, there’s never been a better time to bring a Mac to college."
