'AirPods Pro' With Noise-Canceling, New Design, And $260 Price Said To Launch This Month

China's "Economic Daily" reported that the next generation of noise-canceling AirPods with a new in-ear design will be launched at the end of this month, and Apple will call it “AirPods‌ Pro” for the time being. The price is expected to be approximately $260.

Apple's third-generation AirPods will feature a new in-ear model to support the new noise cancelation and refine the listening experience. The report claims that AirPods Pro to adopt a new metal design to improve heat distribution, the supplier Inventec is working with another supplier Luxshare to undertake new orders.

Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in April that two new “AirPods”models may be put into mass production between the fourth quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020, with Luxshare, Goertek, and Amcor being the mains suppliers.

Kuo also predicts that one of the new AirPods models will have a “new design” and “higher price”, while the second-generation AirPods standard version is priced at $159 and the wireless charging version is priced at $199. Another model should be updated iteratively at the equivalent price, even though it is not clear what new features it will include.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, meanwhile, stated that he expects the high-priced AirPods with waterproof and noise-reducing features to be available as early as 2020. Yet, today's report indicates that they may be launched sooner.

Given that the new AirPods model includes a "Pro" suffix, which will help distinguish the new wireless earbuds from the current versions of Apple's AirPods and demonstrate fair marketing objectives, the pricing is also likely to be on a new height.
