Zens Liberty Is The Closest AirPower Clone Yet, Now Available For Order

Zens Liberty, a Qi wireless charging pad similar to Apple's failed-to-launch AirPower, while having failed to fully recognize AirPower's features promises, still, it's a major step up from current wireless chargers, and a great companion for iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch.

Liberty has 16 overlapping charging coils that allow the device to be charged anywhere on its surface. It's available in two versions, with the $139.99 wireless charger comes with a fabric surface, while the $179.99 version comes with a glass surface to view all the charging coils included.

Zens says its charging pad has a total wireless power output of 30W (which means it can charge two devices at 15W) and supports fast charging from Apple and Samsung. It also includes a 2.4A USB-A port that can be used to charge a third device. The entire charging board is powered by USB-C and comes with a 60W USB power adapter.

However, it's worth to note that on the one hand, Zens Liberty can only wirelessly charge two devices at the same time, instead of three. Further, it can't charge the Apple Watch directly, and it needs to plug a $39.99 accessory into its USB-A port.

Zens Liberty is now available for order and will be shipped in January.

Apple originally announced in September 2017 that it would launch an AirPower charging pad, but it later completely canceled the product, as the iPhone maker is unable to solve the overheating problem.
