Apple updated its website to reflect the store opening statuses in China. 5 of their stores in Beijing are now reopened since Valentine’s Day, but with shortened business hours. The stores will only be open from 11am to 6pm local time, in order to minimise the exposure and transmission of the coronavirus.

The Cupertino company has not announced the updates of the reopening dates in mainland China, which the last time they updated the reopening dates included February 19th for the other locations in the country. In the good news, Apple has already started reopening corporate offices and contact centres earlier this week. Foxconn production plants are in process of reopening its China locations right now, as the outbreak caused an impact on Apple’s suppliers.

Production plant closures caused significant impact to shipping delivery dates and Apple product sales during the outbreak over the past month. There are over 40 Apple retail stores in China, making up 10% of the retail locations worldwide. All Apple Store locations, Apple Authorised Providers and carrier stores are now provided with a thorough cleaning guide that encourages sales associates to clean demo Apple products at least twice a day, the proper way to use microfibre cloths and how to properly wash hands. The guide informs employees of maintaining their wellbeing and prevent the spread of coronavirus and other viruses to customers and other people.
