Best Buy Now Stocking iPhone 9 Case, Won't Be On Sale Until April 5th

The long-rumored iPhone 9 is expected to be released this spring, but accessories from phone case makers are now entering retailers such as Best Buy and have specified that they will not be on sale until April 5.

The picture above shows the "New 4.7-inch iPhone, 2020" Urban Armor case. These phone cases and others will be sent to retailers such as Best Buy this week. However, many retailers are instructed not to sell the accessories until April 5th (this Sunday).

The date could indicate iPhone 9 will rollout this week, but so far we haven't heard any concrete details on when the new iPhone is coming out. Because we won't have any events in the immediate future due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 4.7-inch iPhone could be released at any point via a press release.

Some iPhone 9 (iPhone SE 2) cases have already been listed by some online retailers, but sending the actual inventory to Best Buy is a more important phase in the process, as this will not happen until the phone is officially launched.

The Apple iPhone 9 will be the 4.7-inch successor to the iPhone 8. With Touch ID, its design is almost the same as iPhone 8, but is expected to feature A13 chip, whilst the Apple Logo, similar to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro lineup, will move to the center for device-to-device wireless charging.

Apple is also developing the "iPhone 9 Plus" with a larger 5.5-inch display, but it will not be released in April.
