Rumors Claim Apple Delays The Launch Of New AirPods And 5G iPad Pro

According to Taiwanese media DigiTimes, Apple originally planned to release the new AirPods in May this year. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the new AirPods are likely to be deferred to the second half of this year or 2021.

Supply chain sources also told DigiTimes that the new AirPods have the same shape form as the current AirPods Pro, except that there is no active noise cancellation feature and the price will be lower.

Leaker Jon Prosser claims that Apple may releases the so-called "AirPods X" around September or October, with a design similar to BeatsX. Proser pointed out that the "AirPods X" may be the same product as the entry-level AirPods Pro referred to by DigiTimes.

Not only Apple may delay the launch of the new AirPods, but a report from United Daily News also claims that Apple's first 5G 12.9-inch new iPad Pro that supposed to be released in the second half of this year, will not be available on sale until next year.

Since this new tablet is not only the first iPad to support 5G, but also Apple's first product shipped with the latest Mini LED display technology, the market is profoundly looking forward to its sales. Taiwan’s supply chain declined to comment on rumors that the new iPad may be delayed.

In March, Apple refreshed its iPad Pro lineup, which comes with an A12Z Bionic chip (same as the A12X chip with an extra GPU core enabled), a new Magic Keyboard accessory with a trackpad, an Ultra-Wide camera as well as a LiDAR Scanner for a better AR experience, and more.
