2021 iPad Pro May Feature 5G, A14X Chip, Mini-LED; iPad Air Will Have USB-C Port

Reliable leaker L0vetodream shared some details about the iPad Pro, claims that Apple plans to launch new iPad Pro models with A14X chip, 5G support, and mini-LED display in the first or second quarter of 2021. He also pointed out that the 2021 iPad Pro models will come with Qualcomm's X55 modem, which supports mmWave and sub-6GHz.

The leaker had accurately predicted that the iPhone SE 2020 would release in the second week of April and the iPad Pro 2020 would release in the third week of March.

Meanwhile, according to the Japanese blog Mac Okatara, they learned from a Chinese supplier that the fourth-generation iPad Air will use a USB-C port instead of the Lightning port. The site pointed out that because the third-generation iPad Air is based on the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, it's reasonable the fourth-generation iPad Air will be based on the third-generation 11-inch iPad Pro.

All the current rumors indicate that the fourth-generation iPad Air may be similar to the "lite" version of the iPad Pro. The selling points are more powerful chips and relatively low prices.

This scene is somewhat familiar, it seems to be close to the positioning of MacBook Air/MacBook Pro.

As for the sixth generation of the 8.5-inch iPad mini to be released in 2021, Macokatara claimed it will continue to use the Lightning port.
