Despite the coronavirus pandemic has caused many manufacturing plants in China to close, analysts at financial services and investments company Wedbush says that Apple is on track to debut its iPhone 12 lineup in September.
The analysts claim suppliers may have now caught up with the rumored delays and allow the launch of this year's iPhone models to be back on schedule for fall. Nevertheless, the widespread of COVID-19 still caused delays in Apple's pre-production testing and forced Apple engineers to be conducting usual factory visit and component inspections remotely via video calls.
In a related story, analysts at British bank Barclays also claimed that Apple will announce the lineup in September, but at least some models might not be available to order until October or November.
Barclays' analysts expect iPhone 12 models will not come with EarPods in the box, which is consistent with a prediction made by reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo last month. Moving forward, Kuo argues that Apple hoping this would bring more AirPods sales.
Additionally, Barclays believes the two higher-end iPhone 12 Pro models feature a triple-lens camera system with a LiDAR Scanner. This will, of course, pave the way for new AR experiences.
Without providing further details, Barclays suggests that a potential iPad Pro refresh may be happening later this year and expects the third-generation AirPods to launch in early 2021.
