Google today announced the 5G-enabled Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a smartphones at its virtual event, along with a new Nest Audio speaker and an updated Chromecast with Google TV service.
Pixel 5, Pixel 4a with 5G, & Pixel 4a
Pixel 5 comes a 6-inch OLED display, whereas Pixel 4a features a 6.2-inch OLED display, however, both support a 90Hz refresh rate. There are also reduced edges and a small single-lens camera cutout on the left side.
What differentiates Pixel 5 from Pixel 4a is that Pixel 5 sports 8GB RAM, a 4080mAh battery, IPX8 water resistance, a Gorilla Glass 6 display, and the reverse wireless charging feature.
Things that Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a shares in common are the dual-lens camera system, which includes a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 12.2-megapixel lens with an f/1.7 aperture. It also appears that both smartphones sport the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip and 128GB storage.
You can now order Pixel 5 from Google's website, while Pixel 4a won't be available until November.
Nest Audio
Next Audio is Google's latest smart speaker. According to the company, Nest Audio is 75 percent louder and has a 50 percent stronger bass than the original Google Home. With a 19mm tweeter for consistent high-frequency coverage and clear vocals and a 75mm mid-woofer that really brings the bass, this smart speaker is a music lover’s dream.
Additionally, Google developed the Media EQ feature that enables Nest Audio to automatically tune itself to whatever you’re listening to, for example, music or podcast. Ambient IQ lets Nest Audio also adjust the volume of Assistant, news, podcasts, and audiobooks based on the background noise in your home, so you can hear the weather forecast over a noisy dishwasher.
With Next Audio, Google Assistant now learns your most common music commands and responds two times faster than the original Google Home. Nest Audio comes in five colors: Chalk, Charcoal, Sand, Sky, and the all-new Sage.
Starting Oct. 5, users can purchase Nest Audio for $99.99 online at the Google Store and other retailers in the U.S., Canada and India starting Oct. 5.
