Apple Offers Solution To Apple Watch Users With Missing GPS Data

Multiple users faced problems with their iPhone and Apple Watch after updating to iOS 14 and watchOS 7.

Users found that GPS data was not recorded correctly. This seems to affect all Apple Watch models. In most cases, users only wear the watch for exercise while leaving the iPhone at home, and later find that the watch only shows the starting point of the exercise on the GPS map and nothing else.

In addition, some users reported that under iOS 14 and watchOS 7, their Apple Watch and iPhone are consuming too much battery. Some users said that GPS and serious battery drain issues on watchOS 7 can be solved by simply repairing and restoring the watch.

Apple has adopted this approach as an official solution to this problem. In the latest support document entitled "If you're missing Workout GPS routes or Health data after updating to ‌iOS 14‌ and ‌watchOS 7‌," the company says that if that issue has occurred, you should be unpairing your Apple Watch, backing up both your ‌iPhone‌ and Apple Watch, wiping both devices, and restoring from backup
