Apple Continues To Be Most Profitable Premium Smartphone Brand, Captured 86% Of The Entire Handset Profits In Q4 2017

According to a study by Counterpoint Research, Apple continue to be most the most profitable premium smartphone brand. The company has gained one percent of the profit year over year in Q4 2017, capturing 86% of the total handset market profits in the same quarter.

Apple’s newest flagship smartphone - iPhone X alone took over 35% of total industry profits. Not only that, the report indicates iPhone X generated five times as much as the combined profit of more than 600 Android brands during the last quarter of 2017.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus held the number two and three spots in the Counterpoint research’s study. In total, eight out of the top 10 smartphones in which Apple is selling, including its three-year-old models, are generating more profit than other Android OEMs.
