MacRumors reports that an internal document distributed to Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers in the United States reveals that though Apple Watch usually has a 14-day refund policy, Apple will accept up to 45 days refound after the user purchases Apple Watch, but only limited to heart health features related requests.
The Apple Store will submit a refund request associated with the Heart health feature to Apple Support, so customers will need to contact Apple by phone, email or online support. The heart health features mentioned here include the electrocardiogram (ECG) feature that will be enabled in Apple Watch Series 4 and the arrhythmia notifications for Series 1 to Series 4.
Furthermore, by the sound of it, Apple Store will not perform a diagnostic check on the watch, which means that as long as the user specifies the ECG function or the arrhythmia notification function in the refund request, then the company will extend the refund time to 45 days.
Maybe Apple's approach is to give users who buy Apple Watch more time to try heart-related features. However, Apple warned in another document that the ECG app is not "intended to be a diagnostic device or to replace traditional methods of diagnosis," and this "should not be used to monitor or track disease state or change medication without first talking to a doctor."
