Apple Reportedly Working On iPod Touch 7, As 2019 iPhones Could Switch To USB-C Port

According to a report from the Japanese blog Macotakara, Apple is possible in the work for an updated iPod touch, however, the report is unable to provide further details as for release date of the devices. The report also claims that like the 2018 iPad Pros, 2019 iPhones “might” make the switch to USB-C.

Apple last time updated the iPod touch is in 2015, where it upgrade the processor from A5 to A8, and the camera got somewhat upgrades as well, which added an 8-megapixel rear camera instead of the 5-megapixel sensor. The iPod touch is indeed the last members of the iPod family, ever since Apple discontinued the iPod shuffle and iPod nano in 2017.

As for the switch to the USB-C on 2019 iPhones, though the site cited the rumor from "those who are working on it", it has not reached a design reference step, which means that Apple is deciding whether or not to make the switch to USB-C over Lightning this year. This is already the third times we learned that Apple plans to introduce a USB-C port for the iPhone rather than Lightning ports.
