Logitech Crayon Will Soon Receive Wider Support for iPad Pro Models

Evidence from The Verge suggests that Apple is adding support for Logitech Crayon for iPad Pro in iOS 12.2. This iOS version is having a final version released on this following Monday, March 25th. But on the sixth beta release of iOS 12.2, the iPad Pro support is already there for the Logitech Crayon.

A reporter from The Verge named Nilay Patel stated that he contacted Apple recently and they said that the Logitech Crayon iPad Pro support will be added in a software update, presumably iOS 12.2, next Monday. This day also marks an Apple Special Event for spring as well.

When the Logitech Crayon initially released, it’s quite similar to the characteristics of the Apple Pencil. Except the compatibility is only limited to the 6th generation iPad, while the Apple Pencil is compatible with 2019 iPad models, all iPad Pro models, and the iPad 6th generation. This limited compatibility of this stylus leads to being targeted at the education market, which features a kid-friendly design and a price slightly lower than Apple Pencil.

The Logitech Crayon is soon getting wider support to more iPads in the next major iOS version, which will then support the 2019 iPads and all of the Pro models. Some iOS beta testers pointed out that it already works on the newest iPad Pro in iOS 12.2 beta 6, but it’s not final yet. It’s a cheaper alternative to the Apple Pencil and we can’t wait for this stylus to support iPad Pro.
