Samsung Rumors To Supply Apple With OLED Display For Future MacBook Pro And iPad Pro

According to the Korean website The Elec, Samsung is working with Apple to provide OLED displays for Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro and future iPad Pro. Nevertheless, The Elec doesn’t have a good track record, so we will treat this report with a grant of salt:

According to industry sources, Apple is considering adoption of OLED displays in its high-end "pro" models of notebook and tablet PC product lines. The new 16-inch 'MacBook Pro' with OLED display will be added to the notebook lineup and the existing 11-inch 'iPad Pro' display from LCD to OLED.
In February of this year, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple would release a newly designed 16-inch or 16.5-inch MacBook Pro in late 2019. But, Kuo did not mention the display technology of the 16-inch MacBook Pro, nor did it provide further details.

Subsequently, Kuo said that Apple will release the 15-inch-17-inch MacBook Pro with mini-LED backlight in the first half of 2021. Regarding the iPad Pro, Kuo forecasts that the new model will enter mass production in the fourth quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020. In addition, the upcoming iPad Pro, expected to be released from the end of 2020 to the beginning of 2021, is likely to also use the mini-LED backlight technology.
