Apple Rumors To Release New iPhone SE With 4.7-Inch Display In 2020

Apple will hold a media event next week to announce new products such as iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. However, these high-end iPhones account for only about half of Apple's smartphone sales. For Apple, low-cost iPhones are equally important, such as the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7. Following the release of iPhone 11, it's expected that the iPhone 7 will be discontinued, making it critical for the company to release a new iPhone with similar form factors and updated internals...

A Nikkei report today said Apple plans to release a new 4.7-inch iPhone SE in the spring of 2020. A 4-inch display was used by the original iPhone SE while the high-end iPhones launched alongside it were using a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display. The article also stated that the new iPhone SE bear resemblance to the iPhone 8, continues to use a LCD screen, a low price point, and coupled with the new A13 chip.
The size of the new model will be similar to the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 that was introduced in 2017, three sources said. The model will share most of the same components with the flagship iPhones this year, and it will feature the lower-cost liquid crystal display that will help Apple achieve the lower starting price-tag, although the final pricing for the model is not yet settled, the people said.
Nikkei is not the first to report such a rumor, Taiwanese publication Economic Daily News wrote in a report this April that a LCD display will be included in the 4.7-inch phone coming in early 2020. They also claimed that it would feature a new PCB design to house Apple's powerful A13 processor, a rear single-lens camera, a base storage of 128GB, as well as Touch ID and bordered screen.

The new model will be Apple's cheapest iPhone model since the release of the ultra-popular iPhone SE (starts from $399) in 2016, but the Cupertino company has yet to decide on the final naming and price.
