2020 iPhones Rumored To Adopt Qualcomm's Latest And Fastest 5G Chips

Apple's 2020 iPhones will use 5G technology for superfast wireless connectivity. a new article from the Nikkei Asia Review has suggested, and that it will feature Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which will enable 5G capability in these iPhones, with Cupertino is expected to launch three iPhones next year in 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch sizes.

The X55 chip has a peak download speed of 7Gb/s and an upload speed of 3Gb/s. Of course, these numbers are only theoretical speeds, and the actual speed will vary depending on the carrier network. The X55 is also Qualcomm's first 5G chip to support all major frequency bands, operating models and network deployments. At the same time, the X55 is more energy efficiency than the Qualcomm X50 chip, and consumes less power when connected to a 5G network.
All three of the new iPhones will carry the most advanced 5G modem chip, known as X55 that is designed by U.S. mobile chip developer Qualcomm, four people familiar with the plan told Nikkei. The chip, which enables much faster downloads, faces such an increase in demand that there could be supply constraints, one person added.
Last week, another report confirmed that the iPhone will support 5G in 2020. Apple is redesigning the 2020 iPhone antenna lines. The antenna lines would be wider (> 1mm) and the company is said to use other materials (glass, ceramic or sapphire) instead of plastic

The Nikkei Asia Review said that the iPhones to launch next year will feature the A14 5nm processor manufactured by TSMC. And finally, the report claims that Apple aims to ship 80 million 5G-capable iPhones next year.
