Apple iOS 13 has dropped support for many older iPhones, including iPhone 5s and iPhone 6, and only supports iPhone 6s or later. Given that Apple dropped support for two older iPhones at iOS 13, iOS 14 maintaining same the number of supported devices is definitely reasonable. As far as iPadOS 14 supported devices are concerned, iPad mini 4 and iPad Air 2 are not on the list, which are equipped with A8/A8X chips, it might be because iOS 14 could usher a major redesign and for processors that were released in five years ago, it would not simply handing it.

  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2016 and 2017)
