Apple Announces 'Powerbeats' With 3 More Hours Of Battery Life And $149 Price

Apple's Beats subsidiary today announced an updated version of its Powerbeats 3 headphones, though simply called "Powerbeats" with no number, it features a battery life of 15 hours and the price is $149.

The new Powerbeats headphones are inspired by the completely wireless Powerbeats Pro headphones, and they also use the same H1 chip as Apple’s second-generation AirPods and AirPods Pro earbuds, in which enable them to support Hey Siri, and the Announce Messages functionality that was first shown in iOS 13.2.

Like the Pro version, Powerbeats can now get high-quality call quality thanks to the addition of the dual beamforming microphones and speed detection accelerators.

Physical playback controls are also included on each earbud to do things like adjust volume, skip tracks, dismissing or accepting incoming calls, and playing and pause music.

Here are the other new features:
  • IPX4 water resistance rating, which means it will be able to hold up to sweat & splashes of water
  •  5-minute Fast Fuel charging that provides an hour of listening time
  • 15 hours battery life, 3 more hours compared to previous generation
  • Class 1 Bluetooth for extended range and fewer dropouts
Powerbeats available in three colors, black, white and red, you will be able to purchase it from Apple's online store starting this Wednesday, March 18.
