Kuo: All 2019 iPhone To Sport A 12MP Front-Facing Camera; New Coating To Make Lens "Inconspicuous"

Frequently mentioned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has published his latest research report about the 2019 iPhones. In the article, Kuo suggests that the camera upgrade is presumably one of the major selling points on the 2019 iPhones, in which he expects all of the new iPhones to feature a 12-megapixel front-facing camera instead of the 7MP camera on the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR.

Kuo goes on by saying that both iPhone XS and XS Max successor will sport a triple-lens super-wide-angle camera with Sony's exclusive 12MP/1um CIS and 5P/f2.2 lenses. As for the second-generation of iPhone XR, he expect it to include a dual-lens camera configuration. However, all three new iPhone models' front camera gets a upgrade from 7MP CIS+4P lens to 12MP CIS+5P lens.
We forecast the camera upgrade will be one of the new 2H19 iPhone's major selling points. Critical spec upgrades are as follows. (1) Rear cameras of 6.5-inch OLED, 5.8-inch OLED, and 6.1-inch LCD will likely upgrade to triple-camera and dual-camera, respectively. A super-wide camera will be newly adopted by the triple-camera system, which is equipped with the 12MP/1um CIS provided exclusively by Sony. (2) The front camera of all three new iPhone models will likely upgrade to 12MP CIS+5P lens (vs. current 7MP CIS+4P lens).
Additionally, the reliable analyst writes that Apple will add the special "black-lens coating technologies" in an effort to make the front camera and rear camera look "inconspicuous." As past leaks have revealed, the new iPhones' triple-lens rear camera is indeed hideous, so if Apple did add such a coating mechanism, it would make the overall design look better.
