Icon Of The Rumored 16-Inch MacBook Pro Surfaces In Latest macOS Catalina Beta

Evidently, developers from the French blog MacGeneration have found an icon in the latest beta version of a future macOS 10.15.1 update that resembles the forthcoming 16-inch MacBook Pro models, rumored to include an all-new design, Intel's 9th-generation Coffee Lake processors, and the return of a reliable scissor mechanism keyboard.

There's "16" in both filenames, presumably referring to the larger 16-inch MacBook Pro, also, when doing a side-by-side comparison of the 16-inch and 15-inch, we can clearly see that the former have a narrower bezels. Moreover, it seems like the Touch Bar is almost non-existent on the high-end laptop, or at least there is an escape key and power button that separates it from the Touch Bar.

The icons also have a MacBookPro16,1 model identifier. in contrast to the 15-inch MacBook Pro's MacBookPro15,1 identifier.

According to IHS Markit analyst Jeff Lin, the production of the new 16-inch MacBook Pro started in September. He believes the machine will able available in up- to-8-core configurations, 2.4GHz clock speed, and 5.0GHz max Turbo Boost frequency. There will also be a 6-core Core i7 processors model. All of the chips are integrated with Intel's UHD Graphics 630, while the screen resolution will be 3072 x 1920, or PPI of 227.

Supply chain speculation and analyst reports so far have pointed that Apple is expected to announce the premium MacBook Pro with a $3,000 starting price in October. It's already half way through the month of October, we should, therefore, expect Apple to send out media invites for a event in next week. Even then that the company has no plan for a press event, they would still be unveiling the 16-inch MacBook via a Newsroom update.
