Apple Refreshes 13-Inch MacBook Pro W/ Magic Keyboard, 10th Gen Processors

Apple today announced a refresh of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with a reliable Magic Keyboard, a choice to upgrade to Intel's 10th-generation Intel processors, LPDDR4X 32GB of RAM, and up to 4TB of SSD storage.

“Whether you’re a college student, a developer, or a creative pro, the 13-inch MacBook Pro delivers powerful performance, a stunning Retina display, and all-day battery life in our most portable pro notebook. Today we’re adding the new Magic Keyboard, doubling the standard storage, and boosting performance, making the 13-inch MacBook Pro an even better value for our customers,” said Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac and iPad Product Marketing. “With these updates, our entire notebook lineup features the Magic Keyboard for the best typing experience ever on a Mac notebook, offers twice the standard storage than before, and delivers even more performance.”
The updated 13-inch MacBook Pro is now outfitted with a brand new keyboard, which first debuted on the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The Magic Keyboard adopts a redesigned 1 mm keystroke scissor structure, which brings comfortable and stable key feeling; while the arrow keys arranged in an inverted T shape make it easier for users to browse spreadsheets or play games. The keyboard also comes with a physical Esc key, as well as the Touch Bar and Touch ID.

As expected, the 13-inch MacBook Pro range can now be configured with 10th-generation quad-core Intel Core processors with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 4.1GHz. Users who upgrade from a 13-inch MacBook Pro with a dual-core processor can get up to 2.8 times the performance boost. Compared to the previous 13-inch MacBook Pro version, the built-in Intel Iris Plus graphics processor will deliver performance by up to 80 percent and support 4K video editing. The new graphics chip also allows users to connect to Pro Display XDR at a maximum of 6 K resolution.

For the first time, the 13-inch MacBook Pro now offers up to 4TB of SSD for pro users who need more storage and a 32GB of RAM that delivers performance by up to 50% when editing billion-megapixel images in Photoshop.

Plus, the 13-inch MacBook Pro includes speakers that provide incredibly immersive wide-stereo sound, Touch ID for easy login and secure online transactions, Touch Bar, as well as Force Touch trackpad for precise cursor control and Multi-Touch navigation, and the Apple T2 Security Chip, the company's own custom-designed second-generation silicon to deliver the most secure boot process and storage.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro is available to order today on apple.com and in the Apple Store app for $1,299. It will be available in select Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Resellers later this week.
