Apple Introduces iPhone 13 Pro And iPhone 13 Pro Max

Alongside iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, Apple today also introduced iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max for pro users alike. Here is everything you need to know about Apple's latest premium smartphones.

Like the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13 Pro series have a 20% smaller notch, however, unlike iPhone 13, it supports a 120Hz refresh rate thanks to ProMotion. iPhone 13 Pro models is also available in four stunning finishes including graphite, gold, silver, and sierra blue in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and all-new 1TB storage options.


Photography-wise, the all-new Wide camera has a larger sensor with 1.9 µm pixels, the largest ever on iPhone, for less noise and faster shutter speeds needed across lighting conditions. Coupled with the larger ƒ/1.5 aperture, the Wide camera on iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max offers a massive improvement in low-light situations, up to 2.2x when compared to iPhone 12 Pro, and nearly 1.5x when compared to iPhone 12 Pro Max. The new Ultra Wide camera, on the other hand, features a much wider ƒ/1.8 aperture and a new autofocus system, now offering 3x optical zoom for a total 6x optical zoom range on the camera system.

When it comes to video recording, Apple introduced the "Cinematic mode", which uses the powerful performance of the A15 to automatically blur the background in the video to keep the subject in focus. During the shooting process, the user can click on different themes to switch the focus. The Pro models also introduced with ProRes,2 an advanced video codec used widely as the final delivery format for commercials, feature films, and broadcasts, to offer higher color fidelity and less compression.

iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max come with a brand new A15 Bionic chip. Based on the 5nm process, the A15 Bionic chip has a six-core CPU, including two high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores. A new 16-core neural engine is embedded in the A15 Bionic chip, which can perform 15.8 trillion operations per second.

Perhaps the best update on iPhone 13 Pro models is that fact iPhone 13 Pro Max offering the longest battery life ever in an iPhone. iPhone 13 Pro will last up to one and a half hours longer in a day than iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max will last up to two and a half hours longer in a day than iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Customers in Australia, Canada, China, Germany, India, Japan, the UK, the US, and more than 30 other countries and regions will be able to pre-order iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max beginning at 5 a.m. PDT on Friday, September 17, with availability beginning Friday, September 24. iPhone 13 Pro will start at $999 and iPhone 13 Pro Max will start at $1,099.
