Apple Watch Series 7 Announced With Larger Display, Faster Charging, And More

At its "California Streaming" event today, Apple today introduced Apple Watch Series 7, and its headline feature is a re-engineered Always-On Retina display with significantly more screen area and thinner borders, making it the largest and most advanced display ever. The company also previewed what features are coming to the Apple Fitness+ subscription service this fall.

“Apple Watch Series 7 delivers significant improvements — from our largest and most advanced display, to enhanced durability and faster charging — making the world’s best smartwatch better than ever before,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer. “Powered by watchOS 8, Apple Watch brings useful new capabilities to help customers stay connected, track activity and workouts, and better understand their overall health and wellness."
Because of the 20 percent more screen area, Apple has redesigned the user interface with larger buttons. Compared with the previous generation, Series 7 can display 50% more text content, supplemented by new text input methods, including a complete Keyboard experience called QuickPath — allowing users to slide a finger to type.

Here is a list of improvements Apple added to the Series 7 models:
  • It has a more rigid and tough geometric structure.
  • The first Apple Watch with IP6X dust-resistant.
  • WR50 water resistance rating allows users to swim with it at ease.
  • It still has the 18-hour battery life needed for a day.
  • 8 minutes of charging is enough to track 8 hours of sleep.
The new Apple Watch comes in five brand new aluminum case colors, including midnight, starlight, green, and a new blue and (PRODUCT)RED, along with an exciting palette of Apple Watch bands compatible with all models of Apple Watch.

Apple Watch Series 7 will be available to purchase at the end of the fall, and the US version starts at $399.

As for the features that are coming Apple Fitness+, it will include a new body-conditioning workout type with Pilates, a simple way to practice mindfulness anywhere, anytime, with guided Meditation, a new program called Workouts to Get Ready for Snow Season, as well as Group Workouts with SharePlay, where users can work out with up to 32 people at once to keep each other motivated.
