Google Announced Pixel 3 & 3 XL Smartphone, Pixel Slate Tablet, And Google Home Hub Smart Speaker

On October 9, 2018, Google held the 2018 fall hardware event, unveils Pixel 3/Pixel 3 XL smartphone, Pixel Slate tablet, Google Home Hub Smart Display, and the product lineup is still very rich. In the event, Google says there will be three parts that represent their future vision: the AI, software, as well as hardware.


Google Home Hub, As a new addition to Google’s smart home family, Home Hub adds a new feature – the screen. It is still a smart speaker but also severs as the Smart Home Hub. You can use Home Hub just like normal Google Home speakers, just say "Hey, Google" plus what you want to ask it to do, but, with the display, it makes the results more intuitive.

Google Home Hub also add a new feature called Live Albums, which can display photos in users' Google Photos in real time, and machine learning can filter out faulty photos. Of course, Home Hub is also a smart home hub that displays and controls all connected smart home devices in the house, clearly, it wants to rival Amazon's Echo Show device.

Google also announced launched the Pixel Slate tablet. The search giant emphasizes that the Pixel Slate is the excellent tablet for work and play, so it too supports a stylus and a backlit keyboard cover that can be switched between entertainment and working environment.

The Pixel Slate features a 12.3-inch 3000*2000 pixel screen with a pixel density of 293ppi, making it one of the highest resolution tablets available today. It is equipped with Chrome OS and is specifically optimized, such as automatically switch to the desktop mode when connected to a mouse or trackpad. The keyboard, however, uses magnetic design, suck on the back of the tablet, and the ability to manage multiple angles.

Spec wise, it featured with Intel's Celeron M3, Core i5 and i7, with 4GB of support, up to 16GB, with dual 8-megapixel camera front and back, the battery life of up to 12 hours, and the fingerprint sensor is integrated on the power button.

Pixel 3 includes 5.5-inch and 6.3-inch versions, all with OLED screens, Pixel 3 is a three-stage design, Pixel 3 XL has a notch. For other configurations, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are identical, including the Snapdragon 845 processor, 4+64/128GB storage, memory card expansion, and 3.5mm headphone jack, and new IP68 waterproof design.

The main upgrade of the Pixel 3 series is reflected on the Camera and Software features. the front dual camera has a wide-angle self-timer, which is 184% larger than the previous vision, no longer have to worry about a group of people being squeezed out when taking a selfie. Other camera features include “Top Shot”, and “Super Res Zoom."

The so-called Titan Security chip was also embedded in Pixel 3, making Google Assistant smarter and safer, for example, when a spam calls it, the phone will tell who is calling, and then decide whether or not answer it. Finally, Pixel 3 also supports Qi wireless charging standard.

For price, Google Home Hub will retail for $149 that bundle with six months of Youtube Premiere, for the Pixel Slate, it's priced at $599, just little bit cheaper than current 12.9-inch iPad Pro model, and the Pixel 3 will cost $799, as Pixel 3 XL will cost $899, you can order Pixel 3 and 3 XL on October 18th, but will only limit to the US.
