TF International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has published his version of "what to expect from Apple in 2019", shared loads of information about Apple's upcoming products releases. The reliable analyst believes that Apple will be updating full of its product lineups this year: iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Accessories.

Firstly, iPhone: Kuo said that all 2019 iPhone will continue to ship with Lightning port instead of the USB-C. However, the iPhone XS successor may support dual SIM dual Standby, while the 6.1-inch LCD model to feature 4GB of RAM (?). This year's iPhone may also add support for Ultra-Wide-Band (for indoor positioning and navigation), frosted glass casing, bilateral wireless charging, upgraded Face ID sensor, larger battery capacity and Triple-Lens camera (wide angle + telephoto + super wide-angle lens).

As for iPad, he expects Apple to launch two new iPad Pros that come with an upgraded processor. The analyst also predicts that Apple will release an updated iPad and iPad Mini model, in which the updated iPad screen size will increase to 10.2-inch rather than remain at 9.7-inch, and iPad mini will get a speed bump thanks to the processor upgrades.

Mac-wise, Apple is said to launch 3 new products this year, including the 16–16.5” MacBook Pro for professional designers, e-sports users, etc, a customizable Mac Pro that let you do an easy internal upgrade, and a 31.6” 6k3k display with a mini LED-like backlight design that delivers excellent picture quality.

And finally, Kuo forecasts that Apple Watch ECG feature to come to additional countries. new ceramic casing design is also in the work. When it comes to accessories, he says that the new AirPods (supporting for wireless charging and new Bluetooth standard) and AirPower will ship in the first half of 2019, while the new iPod Touch to come with an upgraded processor.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is out with his latest research report, says  that 2Q19 iPhone shipments may be flat, and the year-on-year decline will be over soon. Although the 2Q19 iPhone shipments declined by about 14% year-on-year, they have improved significantly from just 29% in 1Q19 and believes that 2Q19 iPhone shipments will likely be better than the market consensus:

We maintain our forecast of 188–192mn units for 2019 iPhone shipments. We believe the downside risks of share prices for the Apple and iPhone supply chain are limited in the near term given that 2Q19 iPhone shipments will likely be better than the market consensus.
Kuo estimates that 2Q19 iPhone shipments to be about 3400 – 37 million units, which is slightly higher than the market consensus of 30 – 35 million units. Looking into later of this year, he expects 3Q19 and 4Q19 iPhone shipments to be approximately 44 – 46 and 67 – 71 million units, respectively.

Apple to announce final results for the holiday quarter on its upcoming earnings call this Tuesday, where the company is expected to report $84 billion revenue instead of the original estimated $89-93 billion, as it announced earlier this month.

The latest report from TF International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believe that AirPods is not just a wireless headphone for Apple and predicts that it will become more and more important in the Apple ecosystem. The reliable Apple analyst explained a couple of reasons that why AirPods = Communication + Music + Voice Assistant + Health Management.

Firstly, he says that it increase the cost of users moving from iOS to Android ecosystem. Continue on, he states that it's easy to invoke voice assistant, which makes it an important product for voice assistant and AI. Furthermore, since the ear is a perfect area to measure several important health parameters, so it could be integrated with Apple Watch in the future to provide better health management.

Kuo, however, didn't specific why the AirPods is ideal for communication and music, it's obvious that the headset offers great music experience. And on the communication part, with "Hey Siri" coming to AirPods, you don't have to take out your phone, you can just ask the virtual assistant to make phone or sending text messages.

AirPods shipments are growing fast and is currently the most successful products for Apple in years, Kuo forecasts that many brands will follow in 2019. During his last investor report, Kuo pointed out that by 2021, Apple will ship 110 million units. He also predicts AirPods 2 will be released in Q3 of next year, with even bigger change in design in 2020.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi is out with the latest research report on AirPods, which has given hope to users who awaits the second-generation AirPods wireless headphone. Kuo says that AirPods is the fastest growing Apple products, and expects the growth in shipments in 2018 and 2019 will be about 80% and 90%, respectively, while the annual shipments are expected to reach 100 million units by 2021.

Kuo believes that Apple will launch an upgraded version that supports wireless charging in the first quarter of next year, and even predicts that it will see a big change at the same time in the following year: he claims that the new design version will drive the replacement needs, and to be highly integrated with iOS and Mac products for more innovative user experience.

The analyst estimated that shipments will grow strongly in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, from 26 to 28 million, 50 to 55 million, 70 to 80 million and 1 million to 110 million. respectively. All in all, AirPods is arguably the most popular accessory in Apple's history and the product that has the strongest growth momentum in Apple products thanks to the large iPhone user base.

"More than 1 billion iPhone users worldwide offer a huge potential growth opportunity for AirPods. We believe that even older iPhone users are more likely to purchase AirPods than to upgrade to the new iPhone. At least 5% of iPhone users currently owns AirPods, so AirPods still has plenty of room to grow," says Ming-Chi Kuo, the often reliable Apple analyst.

Ming-Chi Kuo's latest research note apparently cutting his shipment estimates for the iPhone XR down to 70 million units, which previously was 100 million. He lists several factors such as the ongoing trade war with China, users' expectation for a affordable device, as well as competition from other smartphone brand like Huawei, he believes that the decline will be offset by higher demand for iPhone XS.

We have reduced our iPhone XR shipment estimation from 100mn units to 70mn during the new product lifecycle (4Q18–3Q19) for the following reasons: 1) Negative impacts on consumer confidence from the trade war, especially in the Chinese market, 2) expectations from more users for more affordable XR or the dual-camera and narrower bezel design to be provided at the current price level, and 3) competition from Huawei's Mate 20 series. We have reduced our XR shipment estimations for 4Q18, 1Q19, and 2Q19 by 30–35%, 25–30%, and 25–30% to 30–35, 20–25, and 10–15mn units, respectively.
The analyst also reducing his overall iPhone shipment forecasts by 15–20 percent for the first quarter of 2019. Kuo also lowered his first-quarter estimate to only 47–52 million from a previous range of 55–60 million. Since Apple has stopped reporting iPhone sales, it will be tough to find out that how many they sold and made how much money from it.

Impacted by the news, Apple's stock today isn't pretty, as matter of fact, the stock dropped 4% as of right now, its market cap also went to from 1.05 trillion a couple weeks ago to $930 billion at the current time.

TF International analysts Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Modified PI (MPI) will replace Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) to become the mainstream antenna technology for the new iPhones in 2019. The Apple analyst has listed serval reasons that the company plan to do, and said it will pave the way for upcoming 5G technology.

According to Kuo, the first reason is that Apple is losing in bargaining for LCP raw material supplies, Secondly, the LCP antenna is really complicated to produce, plus LCP is brittle, which is not ideally for manufacturers to gain yield rate. Furthermore, based on current technical limitations, if you want to improve the LCP production yield, it may reduce antenna performance. Last but not the least, MPI antenna performance is improved by fluoride formulation, and higher frequency performance at 10-15 GHz is much comparable to LCP.

Kuo expects the shipment of LCP antennas for the new iPhone is expected to decline by more than 70% in the second half of 2019. The new iPhones (XS Max, XS and XR) currently uses 6 LCP antennas. In next year, however, Apple is likely to use 4 MPI antennas and 2 LCP antennas for better cellular usage on 2019 iPhones (6.5-inch OLED, 5.8-inch OLED, and 6.1-inch LCD).

MPI and LCP antennas are expected to coexist in the 5G era, but the market will have high growth expectations for LCP materials. The market is currently confident that LCP antennas demand will grow significantly due to the arrival of the 5G era. During the transition time, it will still consist of MPI and LCP antennas.

Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s latest investor report claiming that we could see Apple to launch new iPad Mini on next week’s event alongside two updated iPad Pros, as he shares details on the AirPower wireless charging mat, AirPower, and Macs.

Firstly, Kuo says Apple is prepared to debut new iPad Pro with new design and improved display, USB-C support for charging instead of Lightning port, redesigned Apple Pencil, as well as upgraded processors. However, we can expect the tablet would feature Face ID, edge-edge screen, no Home button and no headphone jack.

Furthermore, the analyst believes that Apple could launch new iPad mini version, where he expect it to have faster processors and better display. It’s worth to note that, Kuo, however, if Apple will announce it next week or early of 2019.

Other things he said that Apple will debut are a new Mac mini, MacBook Air, and iMac with internal upgrades and brings speed bump. Lastly, he noted that new AirPods and AirPower would arrive either next week or earlier of next year. Apple will host the October event on October 30th in New York City.

As expected, as the iPhone XR opened Pre-order window last Friday, news about the new smartphone has appeared throughout many media outlets. We have summed up a couple major news including Kuo's prediction of iPhone XR demand higher than iPhone 8, Apple's SVP Phil Schiller talks about the PPi of iPhone XR's display:

Firstly, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says in a newly published report that iPhone XR's demand was better than iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus during the same period last year. Though shows that shipping estimates remain launch day delivery, the type of customers interested in the phone tends to be general users, who order through carriers.

Furthermore, some people may still be questioning the display quality of the$ 749 handsets, however, Apple's marketing boss Phil Schiller spoken to Engadget that if users can' tell the pixels, then the number doesn't mean anything. "If you can't see the pixels, at some point the numbers don't mean anything. They're fairly arbitrary," says Phil Schiller.

Schiller also discussed that what the "R", in which he didn't directly reveal it, but rather it means that is used denote something it's "really extra special". The marketing chief too believes the iPhone XR is the best and is a great value device and affordable for many people.

Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo out with a new report focus on the latest iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max sales analysis, in which he found that XS Max demand was better than expected, as well as the Apple Watch Series 4.

So, users more prefer the 6.5-inch version than the 5.8-inch version, Gold and Space Gray were more popular than Silver, 256GB is also the most popular model, since 512GB currently face stock shortage. Looking forward to 4Q18, Kuo believe that XS Max will grow steadily due to the demand from the Asian market and the holiday season.

We have determined that the demand for XS Max is better than expected (3–4 times that of XS). The gold and space-grey colors are significantly more popular than the silver. 256GB is the most popular, and 512GB is subject to a serious shortage because only Samsung can currently ship NAND Flash well. We are positive that XS Max shipments will grow steadily in 4Q18 thanks to demand from Asia market and the gift season.

Apple Watch Series 4 demand is much better than expected, because of that, the supplies likely to have some sort tight until the secondary supplier Compal joins Quanta begins mass production starting from November to fulfill the high demand. "We have increased the Apple Watch shipment forecast in 2018 from 18mn to 18.5–19.5mn units," says Kuo on the sales.

Lastly, the analyst stay positive that the iPhone XR will sell like a hot cake, more customers upgrading to that model than the iPhone 8 series spurred last year. Plus, he assumes Apple to fix the display issue next month before the pre-order starts October 19th.

Ming-Chi Kuo, probably the best Apple analyst in the planet, has just released new research note and claiming that Apple will announce several products and what will it be the new highlights of these devices, which including MacBook Air, IPad Pro, iPhone, and Apple Watch.

Firstly, Kuo expects this year's iPad Pro will adopt a USB-C interface instead of Lightning connector, and it will ship with 18W power adapter. However, the analyst doesn't expect 2018 iPhone to comes with USB-C port, but rather remain to use lightning port.

Furthermore, Kuo said the upcoming MacBook Air model to replace current one. Surprisingly, he believes the new lower-priced MacBook to support Touch ID fingerprint authentication, but, no Touch Bar feature. The MacBook Air also to have Retina display and new Intel processors.

The reliable analyst believes all Apple Watch Series 4 models will feature ceramic backs, it will pertain to the sensor cover, instead of the casing. Kuo also predicts Series 4 models will have electrocardiography (ECG/EKG) functionality for your heart health, obviously.

Last but not least, the 6.1-inch iPhone will not have lots of supplies, echos recent Bloomberg’s claims. And, Ming-Chi Kuo thinks AirPower wireless charging mat and AirPods is on the track to release by the end of the year.

Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's latest research report published today says that Service, AR, and Apple Car will create Apple's next trillion dollar market value. Kuo also predicts Apple's first AR devices will release in 2020, while Apple Car to unveil in 2023-2025. (Via MacX)

Apple's current major hardware products will continue to grow in the next few years, but to achieve the next trillion dollar mark depends on Services, new technologies, and products. Kuo says that substantial growth depends on new technologies (AR) to redefine existing products, and products to enter the new market (Apple Car).

Kuo further states that AR is the next generation of the revolutionary user interface. Every time when Apple innovated user interfaces (such as Mac's mouse, iPod's scroll wheel, and iPhone's multi-touch), it can grow dramatically by redefining both existing and new products. It expects Apple to create an AR experience through the AR glasses launched in 2020 to redefine the user interface of existing products.

"Apple Car, which is expected to be launched by Apple in 2023-2025 will be the huge hit in the time", Kuo says. There are two reasons that Apple plans to build a car, one is the automotive industry is reimagining new technologies, with possibly huge replacement needs, like the smartphone industry 10 years ago, with another is Apple's leading technology advantages (AR) are expected to be beneficial to launch Apple Car.

Additionally, the analyst says Apple Car helps the company enter the huge auto finance market, it will significantly be contributing to the growth of Service bussiness. Cupertino now can make better hardware than competitors in the consumer electronics industry and potential rival competitors in the automotive industry.
