UBS Says iPhone 8 Could Only Cost $900 For Base OLED Model, As The Device SIM Trays Surfaced

As we reported yesterday, the consensus view on the iPhone 8/Edition/X is that it will be available in three storage tiers, with standrd pricing starting at $999. Reports to date have suggested a 64GB model at $999, a 256GB one at $1099 and a 512GB model at $1199.

While UBS have disagreed, they basically think that Apple usually prices its flagship Plus models at a slight discount to Samsung’s premium Galaxy Note devices. With the Galaxy Plus at $840 and the Note at $950, we think a $900 price tag for the base OLED model makes sense. They also said that only 64GB and 256GB tiers will be offered.

Also according to one of the original sources of the ‘Blush Gold’ iPhone 8 rumor, Benjamin Geskin, who leaked the device's SIM tray, claiming iPhone 8 will actually be available in just two or three colors, “Blush Gold", Silver, and Black. Although we aren’t sure what Apple will call this new take on gold, it is being referred to as copper or ‘blush gold' for the time being.

Apple could debut a radically redesigned iPhone that features an OLED of an edge-to-edge display, a vertical rear camera, a facial recognition system, a much-improved processor, and wireless charging functionalities. Alongside the OLED iPhone, Apple is also expected to announce 4.7 and 5.5-inch iPhone 7s Series at September 12 Events at Apple Park's Steve Jobs Theater.
